We decided to celebrate Cinco de Mayo 2008 at the Kirkland Keg Steakhouse and Bar. We pulled up a seat in the bar, it’s dim and there is lots of dark wood, if the smoking ban wasn’t around, it would remind me of the opening scene of the Godfather. Nice bar – good atmosphere, good happy hour prices and drinks. But how did the nachos stack up?

Appearance: served on a platter with 3 chip bowls full of salsa, sour cream, guacamole
Quality: nachos arrived promptly and piping hot
Ingredients House-made chips (multi color), cheddar cheese, olives, jalapenos, seasoned chicken, green onion
Left on plate? Yes, about ½

On a scale 1 being worst, 10 being the best:
7
These nachos could have been improved had the Keg not used their own homemade chips. The chips couldn’t withstand the generous portions of ingredients placed on them and therefore couldn’t be eaten after the halfway point. The cheese became too hard and the chips too soggy.
However, every ingredient on the nachos themselves was quality and we left happy.
